There are no markers in the back.. I'm thinking it's a Gillete Knack but I don't know the year... and I thought all the Knacks had a plastic handle... this one has a metal handle.

It's not a Gillette. It's a Pakistan made razor, that is meant to somewhat copy the styling of the Gillette Knack.

I owned one about two years ago, when Shave a Buck was selling them, and calling them the Sabi Gen I (SABI = Shave a Buck Incorporated). I hope they have improved on the quality since then, because back then it was 100% total junk!! The doors would not fully seat (and hence the blade curvature was not correct), and the overall quality of the head felt very cheap. Other people who owned them at the time reported that they fell apart with a week or two of usage.

Also know as the 'phat' TTO on the bay but dont quote me on the spelling of that. Avalible in a gold clour as well I believe.

Well thats somewhat disappointing to receive a "cheap" DE razor. Is this common practice with Whipped Dog DEs? I was hoping to get a Gillette superspeed/flare tip or something better.

Well I shaved with this razor this morning... used some MWF face lathered, rinsed off then applied some Speick Splash... wasn't bad at all.

I know Larry ( The owner) he is a very generous and honest seller. He can give you a full refund no questions asked. Also, he never said it was a Knack.

Price: $16.00
Quantity: 997
Description:
Double Edge Razor
Tired of buying the newest ripoff razors with multiple blades, and not having enough money to buy your mutt dog food? Buy this double edge razor and save tons of money. Five double edge razor blades will be included with razor. The razor is a "twist to open" butterfly device, opening for insertion and removal of blades when the ring at the top of the handle is rotated.
The razor and blades costs $16. Add $1 when mailed outside the US.

Larry would refund the money if or not happy, glad u liked it. Thank you for serving in Military for us.

Hmm, didn't even know he sold DE razors. I've spoken with him a few times about his straights and he seems like a great seller, especially if you end up not being happy with your purchase.

Larry currently only sells one DE razor, the one you have. At the moment he doesn't have any vintage DE razors for sale. Maybe he should make the description text clearer, to indicate that you will receive a razor exactly like the one pictured. The DE deal is not at all like his sight unseen straight razor deals.

Cheap doesn't necessarily mean low quality; Lord of Egypt sells a number of DE razors at the $10 price point, and they are good quality excellent shavers.

Didnt wizamet were producing razors like that ?

This is not a vintage razor, it is current product. The specimen I owned was made in Pakistan. It's possible this one is not, but the designs between what I had, and this one appear to be 100% identical.

Yeah your right, this was my first time buying from them. It's my fault for not reading it more in depth. I plan to go for the sight unseen deal and a custom silver tip next. Megan has been helpful over email... Larry is not in right now since hes dealing with something.

I agree with Alex . . . Larry is top-notch and my dealings with him have been great. He sells a low-cost new DE, and has vintage DE available at very fair prices from time to time. (I bought my last Segal from him.) He is a well-regarded honemeister, and of course his "sight unseen" straights are the most cost-effective way to jump into the world of straight razor shaving.

Like has been said, it is the SABI, and I have one. I think it is a great travel razor. It gets the job done, and if something happens it was inexpensive enough to shrug it off. The shave is pretty good, I would say it is a step better than the Weishi for me because it weighs more.

I've never bought a razor from him, but you can't beat his knot prices, or quality. Plus, he's a great guy to deal with.

PS: Has anyone heard anything about his daughter?
