ID this handle?

Howdy folks,

I ended up with this Frankenrazor (e-bay lot), and the handle confuses me. It's not a Gillette, but it fits the old-style head that came with it. It's cast (the mold line is there), and plated (looks like silver).

Any ideas?

Not sure who made the handle, but just about all 3 piece razors use the same thread size, and thus handles can be swapped between razors, and even different brands.

Hence you can take the handle off of a Gillette Tech, and attach it to the head from a Gillette Old, or New type, and vice versa. The handle from my Lord 3 piece will also fit onto all of my Gillette heads.

Interesting ... I've swapped out Gillette handles before, but I didn't know that different brands commonly matched up as well.

Cooncatbob can tap his custom made handles so they work simultaneously with the Gillette heads, the Merkur heads, and the Edwin Jagger/Muhle heads. Thus you can have one handle that can work with potentially half a dozen + different heads. The threading for the Merkur/EJ/Muhle heads is technically metric, but close enough to the threading that Gillette used that all heads will still work (as long as the threads on your Gillette heads are not severely worn under size).
