ID please

I've been on the hunt for a Gold Super Adjustable for a while, picked up this lot on Ebay today for about £30.

Aside from the SA, what do I have here:

My guess:

1948(ish) Super Speed
2 x 1960's Super Speed
- Not sure about the three piece?

For both of you, your three-piece looks to be an Old-Type Single Ring. They were produced for a number of years, and actually perform quite well considering they were of the original head design!

That series was serialized. Your razors should have serial numbers on them, from which the year of manufacture can be determined.

The older examples were usually well-plated in either silver or gold, and typically clean up rather nicely!

The age. I have picked up a few of the Old Types, but they are all from the early 20's. I Haven't come across any older than that in my casual searching.

what's the relevance of being a 1915? other than age (not researched the older stuff)

BlkKnight:
From the serial number that i see on your razor, it dates from 1915......nice score!

My God . . . you have good eyes!! (Wish mine were that good!)

1915 is a good score . . . hope it shaves as good as it looks!

The image posted here is a clickable link to a larger image which can also be enlarged further. Once there, simply hold your screen upside down to read the letters, unless you have a CRT monitor, then it's probably easier to just turn your head.
btw: I think the date is wrong. I think it's 1911, if there are only 5 digits after the C, or 1914 if there are six. The first 3 look like C56 to me.

Yes, Amish, my friend . . . I clicked through the zooms and I still wish my eyes were that good!!! I stood on my head, looked sideways, and squinted . . . just short of asking SWMBO to look for me . . .

(I'm overdue for my eye exam from LAST year . . . let alone the reminder I got in the mail from the Ophthalmologist this week!!!)

I still can't tell for certain what the SN is, but am glad that between all of us the OP is able to determine what he has . . . and I still hope he enjoys the shave!!

Thanks also for the fine advice and assistance you have given many of us over the ages!! :thumbup1:

I counted only 5 digits after the "C"

I'll hopefully have them in a week or so, once cleaned will post a big pic up

Having a working razor from that era it pretty cool - it'd older than any of my surviving relatives.
