I'd like to know about the shape of razor before buying it. any advice?

Hello Badger And Bladers,

new member here.
I am wondering if any of you fine fellows know how I may ascertain the shape and agressiveness of a razor before I buy it. There is no showcase for me to inspect razors near our home, and I'd like to find a razor more agreeable to my face.
Is there a catalogue or guide from manufacturers that make this information available? Is there a website? Or must I, like so many of you, try a large number of razors in order to find one that I love?

thanks for the help
regards

Welcome! You can also look up razors you see in the review section. While the efficacy of razors and blades are purely subjective, you can still get a good idea on what different razors are like.

There's no substitute for holding a razor in your hands and shaving with it. Other people's eviews are so subjective as to be nearly useless (other than quality control issues.)

Finding one that you love out of many doesn't have to be all that time consuming. Razor lots get put up for auction quite frequently, and you shouldn't have trouble at all finding one with an assortment of old type, super speed, tech, new, and what have you - for a reasonable price per razor. The presence of an adjustable in the mix tends to drive the price up more, but even then it tends to be reasonable. And if you find that you don't want them all, you can recoup some costs selling off the ones that don't suit you.
