Thanks for the replies. I stand corrected. Probably overpaid for this but anyway am hoping to do a bit of restoration. Is re-plating the only option for dealing with brassing?

Yes. Or just clean it up and leave it as is.
They came chrome plated originally. You could get it replated in nickel. In which case you may want to get the blade case replated as well if you're fussy. The finishes are close but the color tone between chrome and nickel is slightly different. I wouldn't try to straighten the bent tooth since the odds are better than 50/50 that it would break. It won't affect the shave as is.

I wouldn't say that you necessarily overpaid. The case is in very nice shape.

My Big Fellows (Old Type and New Improved) are silver plated.
