What's new

I Went to C&E.

A day ago I posted about needing a new brush and that I had seen Kent brushes being sold down the road from me; I also remembered that Westfield had a C&E shop and I had heard of their impressive shaving creams. Long story short I spent way more money than intended. I knew I wanted the Nomad cream...which led to the Lime balm as the bottles were lining the counter and then I noticed the brushes behind the lady serving me. Made by Edwin Jagger, most of them were Superfine with a couple of Pure ones intended for travel, no Silvertip to be seen. I knew I wanted Super as it seemed the safest bet for me. Anyway here's a photo:

The brush was just a tad too big for my current stand - so I just turned the stand upside down and used the pad on the back to stick it on the wall, problem solved. The brush feels much nicer compared to my current one, glad I spent the money. The Nomad cream smells great and so does the balm. I'll have to post again tomorrow after using them.

I went to C&E on Saturday with the intention of picking up their West Indian Lime soap, but I didn't like the smell or lack thereof so I passed.

The lady showed that to me in a tube so I didn't go for it. I got the balm version instead just to compliment the cream afterwards as it smelled good to me. You may have seen a thread in the cream section about lime products being a bit lacklustre. Personally, I agree that they are never scented enough. If it doesn't hold up I know my mum would like it as a lotion anyway!

I was thinking about going to C&E to pick up the sienna, is there a difference between the soap and cream besides the price?

Remembering my experience today and from what other people have already mentioned, the soaps aren't good for the scent. The Sandalwood has a good one but it certainly isn't Taylor of Old Bond Street. My Nomad cream smells great, Sienna they didn't have so I can't comment on that particular flavour.

Just did a test lather with the brush to see how it would go. Needless to say, a massive improvement over my starter brush.

REVIEW TIME!

The brush is great, nice and heavy and made a good lather in no time. Not much else to say, but well worth the money.

The cream in terms of density is similar to TOBS, some people may want to add more water, but I decided to try and get a thick lather this time.

After shave balm has a nice scent to it that stuck around for a bit but as I always add a spray of something before work that doesn't concern me.

OMEN, being from London, would you care to comment on this thread:

I would greatly appreciate any offerings, thank you.

I'll take a look.

ive bought the sienna, and the lime balm. both smell great. the sienna makes a good lather, but at the time didnt provide as much slickness or protection as i was hoping for. ill come back to that as my later technique improves. the lime balm as awesome, it smells great and leaves my skin feeling awesome! if your skin is irritated, you may want to hold off for a day or so though as it might burn a little, maybe from the lime essential oil. they were a little overpriced in my opinion, but they work well.
