What's new

I wanted to thank the Forum...

...I've been deployed all but two months of the last two years. Near the same place both times, both miserable deployments.

But this one, during the times when I was able to get to a computer, this site has given me HOURS of entertainment.

Now that I'm nearing the end of what I'm doing here and getting ready to enter the real world again (I'm nervous. So much will probably have changed...I've got to move when I get back, get a new car and just really jump into a boiling pot...plus I dont enjoy my civilian job...), I'm sure I'll still at least lurk here, but it's been more therapy than you guys probably know to be able to have a quick link back to the real world.

Many of the news sites I'd like to go see are useless due to various Java, HTML, etc, etc, restrictions as well as restrictions on streaming media.

This site has kept me in touch, somewhat.

Since I was last a regular guy on the street, we've switched Washington majorities, elected a new minority (!!!!) Prez, gotten something resembling national health care, gotten new music, gotten new movies, crawled into a recession, and probably a bunch of other things I'll figure out later.

Is McDonalds still around? :)

Anyhow, I'm rambl'n again.

The point is: Thanks for keeping me entertained, even when I was down!

Life is good...no...amazing!!!

Thank you for your service. My son is in the same shoes you are. He will be heading back to civilian life after his deployment ends at the end of June. He is also in Iraq. Good luck.

Thank you for your service and dedication to our country. B&B is a pretty special place. I am glad that we were able to keep you somewhat connected. Get home soon. And safe.

Glad you are heading home in one piece.

Is McDonalds still around? :)

Today it is, but you better hurry, because now they want to take away Ronald McDonald, because like Joe Camel he is enticing kids to eat unhealthy hamburgers
