What's new

I think my RAD has come and gone...

now what? there are definitely safety razors out there i'd like to add to the rotation, unfortunately, i'm unwilling to part with $100+ to get my hands on one. plus, I kinda feel like having 12 razors is more than enough. I also feel like I have enough creams and soaps to last me several years and I don't think investing in another badger brush is necessary. I feel restless. It's like I want new stuff, yet I don't.

Try different combos

Razor A with Blade B, soap C and After Shave D.
Mixing it up can make a difference.

Or Sometimes, I'll just go into the whole process deliberately intending to take twice the amount of time that would ordinarily be necessary. I focus on specifically pampering myself with the steam, hot water, lather and shave.

Keep your eyes open on the BST, sometimes a great deal comes along that can't be passed up. Your AD isn't gone, it's just hibernating. A shiny bit of metal or a review of a great soap or AS is all it takes to wake the sleeping giant.

i'm not really into the colognes and aftershaves. the BST forum is definitely worthwhile but I have to be quick otherwise stuff gets snatched up pretty quickly. don't know what it is though. I went through a 2-3 week period where all I did was check ebay for vintage Gillettes, now I have no desire to buy anymore stuff

I found myself buying razors like mad when I first started DE shaving. I just had to try lots. Now after close to a year of wet shaving I've narrowed it down to just 4 razors. The Merkur HD in both straight bar and open comb, and the 1904 also in both. That's all I need in razors with the exception of the Merkur travel razor, again in both. I'm slowly selling off my extra razors. Right now its 2 sold, 3 to go. I have the regular Merkur slant, the HD barberpole, and the HD barberpole slant to go. If anyone is interested I have a post on B/S/T or contact me direct. :thumbup1:

Paul
