I think I finally understand what all the tallow fuss is about...

This morning I lathered up a travel puck of tallow C&S Oxford and Cambridge soap.

I guess previously I've never really tried a quality tallow soap. The soaps I've tried are good soaps from SCS, MB, and TGQ, and I love them all. That's why I always thought the guys from the "tallow loving coalition" were mostly blowing smoke.

I realize it was just one shave, but all I can say about this little puck of soap is this:

Yep. It's good stuff, isn't it. I love it, too!

I think C&S soap is made by Valobra, as is AOS soap.

No, the hype is true, unfortunately. (Unfortunately because of the ever-present fear of reformulation.)

Tallow soaps really give a completely different feeling when shaving (for the better). The only non-tallow soap that comes close for me is C&E Sienna.

Yep there's something about tallow that makes the razor glide out of this world. Love it

Quality tallow soap can be insanely good. Lathering it is like falling off a log.
