What's new

I see a humidor in my future

Dark board is 10”x1.5”x48” of spanish cedar and the light board is a rough milled piece of elm. I think I’m going to be busy. I’ll post progress pics.

Traditional ways are best. Slow, measured, quality work. Looking forward to seeing your progress.

Awesome! I'll be following this thread. My grandpop was a woodworker and collected probably close to 50 planes of all shapes, sizes, and specialties. My dad and I inherited them and have been trying to slowly get them into workable shape. Good to see someone making use of such tools!

Thanks everyone.

Cedar’s rough cut but I think that I’m going to pick up some more as I’ve decided to build a couple of drawers in it. I’m also thinking of grabbing some Padauk to incorporate into the door.

3/8” Side bead plane is getting some use too.

Unfortunately it’s supposed to rain all week so I’ll have to wait until the weekend to do more.

Got some more spanish cedar for the interior drawers and some padauk for the door.

That bead plane is so very cool. Just think of the stuff that was made with those tools.
I think the same thing about my old straights. If only they could talk, the stories they could tell.
