I posted pics of a NEW Gillette President - with case marks?

Hello all -

I did receive a bunch of inquiries about pictures related to a new Gillette President razor I came into acquisition of...

This has a bit of a mystery, because the side of the razor head where it rested on for the last 60 years has extremely faint marks , but the other side is absolutely flawless...the razor has never been used or even had a blade inserted into it...has anyone had an experience like this? Should I continue to keep the razor in the case?

I do not know what caused the marks, but it could be something as simple as the owner loved to look at it every Saturday night. That would be 3120 times it was placed on the felt. If you do not continue the trend it will do just fine in the case. If you are concerned display it in front of the case on a bed of micro fiber.

Tom - in all honesty, the gentleman said that his grandfather looked at it when it was given as new, judged it as being too fancy to use except for a special occasion, removed the original blades, and stashed it on the shelf in the closet where it sat for 60 years!! Almost like that fancy bottle of wine that nobody wants to drink and the owner dies before ever having treated himself....
