What's new

I need a new moisturizer

I am tired of searching for what I want and from reading reviews I am leaning to Clinique Max Hydrator, can't remember exact name.
If someone know something better, please speak up.
I have been using Paul Mitchell's Tea tree hair and body moisturizer.

I may stand alone but I have had good results with Aramis Lab Series products, in particular the 3-in-1 Post-Shave and the Daily Moisture Defense Lotion. They have a very light smell (reminds me of beer for some reason) and don't leave my skin feeling oily. Just my two cents, have a good one!

Lab series makes a damn good brushless shave cream and I have used most of the line,I did not find the moisturizer worth the price.

Lindcruiser, I just want you to know you don't stand alone. I've found the Lab Series Daily Moisture Defense Lotion works better than any other moisturizer for my face. It soaks in velvety smooth, and works all day long.

But I also understand, Paul, that everyone's skin is different and everyone has to find what works best for them, and the Daily Defense Lotion doesn't work best for you. What are you looking for in a moisturizer that you're not getting now?

By the way, I use the PM Tea Tree Hair and Body Moisturizer, too, but only in my hair, and like it a lot, too.

I've been having good luck with Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream. It's thicker than the lotion (which I'm not crazy about), but it's not really heavy. In warmer weather I just use a bit less. It's not cheap but it lasts a while. I'm on my second tub.

The Paul Mitchell Tea Tree moisturizer is some good stuff but I do not think it is made for the face, like the name says hair and body,so I just want something more moisturizing that is not greasy or will clog my pores or make my face look shiny.

Obsessed,

That cream looks interesting, from what I understand a cream will moisturize better than a lotion.

I think that's generally true.

If you live near a store with a Kiehl's counter, I'm sure they'll give you a sample. If not, maybe you can call them.

I ended up getting Hope In a Jar moisturizing cream and Kiehl's Facial Fuel.I am very happy with both. The Hope in a Jar was recommended by a lady at Sophia and I use it at night and the Facial Fuel in the mornings.
They have helped my complection and I could swear that the Hope in a Jar has improved my shaving.

Hydrolast Balm is darn good for a man. And it doubles as aftershave when used with the tonic to thin it.

I like lavender or lime for covering the face. The peppermint can burn the eyes if to close, although it is rightous on shaved skin.

For heavy duty winter time I like MaleFace from qed.

The Gentlemens Refinery's Standard Moisturizer - expensive ($48) but you get what you pay for - I'm starting to think that if I am going to spend on cleansing & shaving products (and, trust me, I have spent more money since I've discovered this site than I'd care to admit to SWMBO:lol:), the most important one to spend on - more than razors/blades/pre-shave creams/shaving creams/colognes/etc - has to be moisturizer

Try Nature's Baby Organics Face & Body Moisturizer. It was designed for babies but it can be used by adults, and it's pure and organic (USDA Organic). It contains good stuff for your skin.
I ordered it from iherb.com and used a first time $5 discount coupon (IRO586), and got the moisturizer for $1,57 plus shipping. Great deal

Every Man Jack post-shave lotion. Inexpensive (about $10 if i remember correctly). I've tried many over the years, some very expensive. So considering the price on this one it's more than worth a try...

Earth Science face and body moisturizer for men ranks among my favorites as well. Even my girlfriend prefers this on her own face.

This is one of those things that if you ask 10 people their opinion, you will get 20. So, here's the 21st:

I love:

1. Trumper's Fragrance-free moisturizer (you can combine it with your favorite after shave)

2. D.R. Harris Aftershave Milk

I love the following Lab Series products and wouldn't use anything else now:

Multi Action Face Wash
Power Wash
Age Rescue Face Lotion
Moisture Defence Lotion

I wasn't too keen on the Instant Eye Lift Cream - I preferred the Dermalogica Multi-Vitamin Power Firm

+1 for Kiehls,
great stuff. They have a few different moisturisers to choose from, depending on how naturally dry/ greasy your skin is.
Matt.

Edwin jagger lotion is excellent, i use sandalwood but I have also sampled the aloe Vera and its also has a nice fragrance.

It has a good moisturising property with out leaving an oily feeling on the skin.
