What's new

I miss my old Proraso.

Every summer, I enjoy the cool refreshing tingle of menthol & Eucalyptus in my Proraso shaving soap. I used up my last tub at the end of last summer and I ordered a new tub only to find they changed the formula. It feels more greasy than before. They probably changed it to add lubrication, but I don't like it. I have tried Omega and RazoRock and they seem to have the same consitancy as the new Proraso. Any recommendations for a good menthol soap that can be had for under $20 without the greasiness?

Use a low scent tallow soap like AOS old stock unscented and add a few drops of menthol. I add menthol to Irisch Moos....a GREAT combo. I use the M-Bomb from The Shave Den, though I am sure you can get it elsewhere as well.

My physiotherapist is Italian and always when she visits her family there she brings me some Proraso soaps. For a big jar you pay only 1,50€ there. So far I haven't noticed a change of the formula. When I want more refreshment by my soap I give a few drops of Japanese mint oil in the lather.

Now half as wise
Valobra makes a soft soap with menthol, but it is not terribly strong. Never used the old Proraso so can't compare. The other menthol soap I've used is QCS Vostok. Lots there.

I really love the AOS creams they are very luxurious. I will treat myself to a sandlewood or lavender every Fall. I never thought of mixing in menthol.

How is Irsch Moos for a shaving cream?

I hear a lot about QCS Vostok. Are they only available at their webstite.
