I LOVE my Rooney 3/1 in Faux Horn!

A couple of weeks ago I purchased a Rooney 3/1 in Faux Horn from Jim at Vintage Blades.

I just want to share how much I love this brush. It feels great on the skin, it looks nice and it whips of lather with cream and soap like a BOSS!

This is such an amazing brush. Which raises a question, where do you go from here in terms of brushes?

A question that will be difficult, at best, to answer. I love my 3/1 super, and have just recently grabbed up a Simpson's 2-band super Persian Jar 2. It is an amazing brush, and at least the equal to the Rooney in all things.

Next, for me, will be an elusive Rooney Finest. More backbone, a little scritch, and luxurious tips. Unless, of course, they put out another bone handle series...

3/1 Supers rock...but it has since been surplanted by my 1/2 Finest...whole nutha beast, brutha...

(psst, Trav...gotta clean that razor, man! Lol...)

Though I am unable to compare, a 3/1 in finest is one of the nicer parts of my day.

Might I suggest that, to compare, we might take a B&B 2009 LE?

I love my 3/1. I recently picked up a 3/2 and it is fantastic as well if you like larger brushes.

I have a Rooney 3/1 in the faux Ivory that I love. I followed that up with a Shavemac D01 that I like just a bit better however, I wouldn't let my Rooney go! It's a great brush!

Purchased a Rooney 3/1 Super in coral from Jim in December. I thought it was the start of SBAD and it turned out to be the end as I have no desire to even try another brush.

Great looking 3/1 Rooney and you got it at a great place and a super guy. It is a pleasure dealing with Jim at Vintage Blades.

If I had to pick one brush it would probably be the 3-1 super. The finest grade is also great, but not a better brush imo.
Where to go after this one? It was the end all for me, after trying many others.

Well, if you want versatility, yes, the Super grade is a great all-rounder. If you want possibly the best brush for face lathering with soaps, and really like stiff backbones and density and luxury, then yes, the Finest grade is the better brush, but of course, the YMMV maxim applies.
