What's new

I like TI's

I really like TI's

The Spartacus is the new ''dreadnought point'' version of the historical forging and has a new straight tang. I just received it tonight and so haven't shaved with it but here some differences with the old model:
- shorter cutting edge ; i really liked the old one but the biggest complaint i had was it felt like shaving with a sword. It even longer than a Le Grelot which I think are fairly long, the new version is like 1/4 shorter
- no thumbnotch and jimps on the tang
-Different worked spine ( newer one looks better IMHO)
Steve from TI UK told me that these are the last historical forgings that will be available and when these are gone they are going to be made with C135. So if you like the older steel better get them while you can, I think a few other vendors have the old model in stock still.

I'd say you do too. I have a vintage TI and its ultra sharp, I would say almost too sharp for my taste, but I'm giving it time to grow on me.

Thats a fantastic collection you've got there sir.

Those historical forging are some of the sharpest razors I own, I can get them sharper than all my others except Filarmonica's which are equally sharp.
But I like very sharp and very smooth so they are perfect for me :D I like the newer model better because those old ones are so long!

The new Grelot Inspired TI is a bit strange, its very small but feels so heavy for its size.

Awesome collection. And you don't like the C135 blades?! I'm surprised, as I've found these to be superior to the historical steel in both ease of sharpening and durability.

How do you like that Le Canadien, by the way?

ooo purty

i've never heard of a dreadnaught point... is this another term for spanish point? (i think i have my terminology right here. please correct me if i'm wrong.)

I like the C135 a lot, i like the historical a little more.

I really like the le Canadien, I think its my favorite right now but that seems to change everyday :)

When I first got the New Grelot inspired one on the bottom I really liked it, especially the shorter blade, but now it feels a bit odd, its very heavy for such a small blade which isn't such a bad thing, just different.

It's one I invented! I thought the blade tip looked a bit like an old WW1 'dreadnought' battleship so I started using it. Now a TM of mine!

No, #69 frameback yet but will try one day. No TIPTLE either or silverwing but the Le Canadien is the same steel as a silverwing
