What's new

I know it's early, but.

Hey, I know it's early, but it's warming up here in the Ohio River valley and I'm going to ask a stupid question in this forum.

Football is over, and I had nothing better to do this past Sunday and decided to spend a little time in the back yard. The past 2 weeks had been snowy, then warm, then snowy, then warm again. Strange weather this.

In turning the over the leaf compost in one of my gardens, I noticed some of the garlic I planted last October had begun to show it's shoots.

So here's the question: I'm a relatively new B&b'er -- and I searched the various forums -- but is there a place in the various forums where members discuss vegetable gardening? I posted here, because I eat (or give away) what I grow and thought this was the natural place to ask the question.

thanks,
Kelly

Great question. Garlic does this when you put it in the fridge too. Normal planting is in the fall. It has quite a bit of growing to do so my best guess is hang in. . . er . . . for 5 or 6 months. I have some asparagus in my garden . . . every year I get just a few nice bits . . . . some things take time.

Thanks for the info. To the other part of the question: Does B&B have a gardening forum? Or do members post here. Not really looking for anything specific, but every suggestion or bit of advice I've read or been given from the members of B&B has been helpful. In essence, why would I want to risk the vast black hole that is the rest of the Internet, when B&B about all I need in a web community.

There isn't really a specific forum for gardening. The Great Outdoors or The Barbershop would most likely get you the most responses. After you harvest, come back here to show us what you do with the bounty.
