I keep breaking French Presses--- Help!

Sounds a lot like using a coffee sock. I haven't tried it, but looks easy and effective:

Thanks for that link. Although I've never used a sock for this purpose, the concept is the same. The trick is in finding a strainer fine enough, otherwise you end up with quite a bit of sludge. I generally take some time to sip my coffee, so by the time I'm done, the sediment usually settles at the bottom of the cup.

I don't use a french press anymore. I boil water in a saucepan, throw in the coffee grounds, cover, and let steep for a few minutes. Sometimes even leave the stove on at the lowest setting while steeping. Once done, I strain it out into a mug using a very thin plastic mesh tea strainer.

I must use this technique this weekend! I have a metal strainer I got from the tea department in my local japanese store. I think it should work... Something like this. http://www.kkdiscount.com/products/Japanese-Tea-Filter-Strainer.html

That is the right idea, but usually those wire mesh strainers are not fine enough (although, I have no experience with one you linked). Coffee grounds, especially from a whirly blade grinder can be quite powdery, and you will probably get coffee that is cloudy. My guess is the sock idea posted earlier in this thread will probably work better.
