Ive started with derby then when I tried astra I fell in love but after awhile and a few test I married my Gillette blacks. Ive been shaving with blacks for just over 2 months and I felt bad for my 100 or so astras I have left so I gave one a try, It started great but I realized quickly you cant use an astra the same way you would a black. They are almost as sharp as each other but to me the main difference is the forgiveness level.
When you learned to ride a bike blacks are like the dad that runs up to you and comforts you and wants to take you to hospital when you fall, blues are the same without hospital, astras are the kind that tell you to get up while watching from a chair drinking a beer and dorcos and derbys are the dads that yell at you for falling and probably five you a kick while your on the ground. I seriously Doubt that anyone that tries blacks or blades of similar tier can ever use lesser quality blades again comfortably.
