What's new

I just bought this on the Bay..Adjustable?

Yup - standard adjustable - 3rd quarter 1962 production. Looks like it sure could use a thorough clean.
Expensive? How badly did you want it? :thumbup1:

It was kind of a shot in the dark for me as I've been wanting to try a Gillette adjustable. I feel my ultrasonic cleaner will do the trick and after that, I'll repaint the setting numbers. If it's jammed up and won't adjust, I'll return it and get most of my money back. Nothing ventured, nothing gained...:001_rolle

This looks like it should clean up well with some Scrubbing Bubbles and a little elbow grease. For $20 shipped, this seems about right for a Slim in this condition.

Whew! Good to hear that I didn't get scalped. I'll use my ultrasonic cleaner followed by a bit of Simichrome and see how it turns out. And thanks all for the info!:thumbup1:

I paid about the same for my Slims and they cleaned up nice. I think you did very well. Enjoy your shaves.

Nice

See my article here http://www.badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=94034 ( one of the first I wrote for B&B ( probably needs a BUMP too ) :001_smile)

May assist you

Simply excellent! I'm a newbie and gained much information from that post. After reading it and looking at the pix, I'm happy now that I bought the Slim due to the slightly longer handle and smaller dome. Now I can't wait to get it and bring it back to new looking.

It's amazing how you can bring back a filthy razor (and yours is not that bad). Soap scum dulls everything, but it comes off fairly easy. I have some fairly minty looking razors that I never would have thought would be clean, but a little elbow grease and polish amazed me.

Agreed, it doesn't look all that bad from the photo. I was thinking of doing a before and after post with pix but after reading this thread http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=131223 and seeing the condition of some razors pre-clean, I don't think I'll bother.
