I just bought this. How'd I do?

With mechanical watches/pocket watches you generally get what you pay for except for the rare situation where you luck into a great deal where someone does not know what they have. I believe that bigspender or another member has answered similar posts in the past where the main point is that if you know what you are looking for then about $300 is the bottom dollar to expect to pay for a decent vintage American pocket watch with a good movement. If you are looking for honest opinions then the piece that you showed in the link is not something that I would have purchased.
I like it. Nice simple design. Not bad for a first pocket watch.

That is exactly what it is. A first pocket watch. One day I am going to own a Hamilton madel 23 Chronograph.
