I joined the big leagues with a holy grail razor

No personal jabs please. We are all entitled to an opinion within our agreed bounds, and Brother Quaznoid's post is essentially philosophical in nature within our hobby and harms no one. Unless you were merely teasing.

Let's keep our posts Gentlemanly and civil.

Mild sarcastic humor, sir. Nothing more, nothing less. Self appointed forum police are not required when no harm or no foul has been committed. A little levity and interjected humor on my end in response to a weak attempt to curb someone’s joy and curtail the enthusiasm about an act of kindness from a fellow forum member. Not a single other member or soul mentioned anything negative about the whole experience nor a detrimental sentiment of the attempt to enrich someone else’s shave experience. Let alone the title of the OP’s thread which is literally of little consequence and amounts to a hill of nothing.

Personally and I may catch some flak for this from forum moderators/admins but, I stand behind it. There are a few who stand behind a veil of unwarranted passive aggressiveness and use this guise as a form of enlightenment and corrective commentary for self justification or personalized empowerment based upon their own knowledge and self proclaimed expertise in said subject matter.

In the end it’s all about a shave forum member showing gratitude and shave euphoria about an act of shave kindness from a fellow shave forum member.

If what I said here offends or costs me membership in this forum, so be it. It’s well worth it.

Glazed Boker, no attempt to kill the OP’s joy. As I said, definitely a most generous gift. And don’t worry, you won’t catch any “flak”, I assure you.

Duly noted, sir. I bow out quickly from this thread as to not derail nor interject anything other than to acknowledge a good act and a good deed has been performed herein.

The joys of shaving should be paramount and the expression thereof should be of the utmost importance with nothing finer than due diligence and sincerity from all parties involved.

A good day and a good shave to you sir and to everyone else as well.....

Calm down, you should be able to have your say, can't imagine you would be suspended for speaking your mind. Those who take offence of your input are reminded we are gents here, it's not a suburb ladies service club. So cheer up, I like sharp comments.

Congratulation Guido! One hell of a gift.

With the level of enthusiasm you've shown around here, I'm not surprised people want to shower you with lavish goodies.
Guido is a nice guy. Open minded, easy going and generous. Easy to like him.
I would love to see more of what @Butch Waxx did.
Each of us has something in their den they don't like. An item that some other member would love to recieve. I for one know that granting another member such an item is rewarding for your self too.
Just try it.

Hello @Guido75 :cuppa:

Soooooo, I was looking at the Safety razor posts oh yay, and on this very fine sunny day, hooray! Not knowing what razor you got, your title of "Holy Grail" razor caught my eye, so I knew I had to take a look. I read your words of member appreciation, as I was drinking my coffee. And then once I saw the first picture of what you got, I kid you not, I spit my coffee out! :001_tt1:

That is the exact same razor, as well as configuration that I have, minus the engraving. That is at least a 340 dollar value right there. You just secured your holy grail razor is right, titanium perfection. Titanium hype lets go!!!!!!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!! Titanium is nice, so I'll say it twice, whiskers come off with every slice.

:shaving:
Excitement overload  !!!WOOHOO!!!

Here's my holy grail razor!!!

@Butch Waxx is a really nice guy. I've seen all versions of his Timeless razors that he owns, he has them in just about every configuration. And its IMHO, he gifted you his very best one. Holy cow! This is just truly amazing, I just can't get over it. Wait, checks eyes, nope, no floaters blocking my view, he most certainly gifted you a Timeless TI95 razor. 😍

Again congrats Guido! Welcome to the titanium club, its an experience like no other. And when you shave with one, you will most certainly realize that. I recommend Wizamet blades in the Timeless TI95 razor, or anything equally equivalent to it, which I am told that Polesilvers and Silver Blues would be, but I haven't tested those in mine yet.
The trouble with holy grails seems to be there is always a holier one.

:blushing::blushing::blushing: - no idea what to say about that. Thanks you guys.

I am a believer of Jack’s signature (and RenoRichard’s one too) and what I have come to experience that in fact this forum does have a therapeutic effect on me beyond what I would have thought or imagined.

I find it amazing and warming to the heart. I mean what are the odds that someone connects with little me living some 5.000 miles across the globe to do such a thing? I find that really special. Even more special considering the distance between people living close to each other can relatively speaking sometimes be worlds apart.

And it’s that connection that makes me want to connect. Your energy and caring makes me interact with energy and care. So actually, this is about all you guys!! :001_wub:

Call me sentimental - and I will confirm “YMMV” :cuppa:

Enjoy!

Like you are having tea, as your little smiley seems to suggest.
Stay of the booze, man, you're making us sob, damn you.

TL;DR = I received a new razor which was at the top of my most wanted list.

Imagine. An office and office desk. Behind that office desk is me working on a survey report. I get my lunch pack out and take a peek on B&B to see if there is anything new. I see that I have received a message from one of the brothers and one with whom I have regular contact. He asks me for my mailing address.

My response in hindsight was kind of funny, because I thought he was referring to mail email address and jokingly I make a remark about not doing anything funny or something like that. His response however blew my mind away :eek2::ohmy:.

He suggested to send me a razor, that wasn't getting enough mileage in his den and asked if I was interested. And if I wasn't than that would be totally fine as well. In the past few months, I have had the privilege of receiving a couple of razors from very generous B&B brothers, and so at first I had the same initial reaction of slightly feeling uncomfortable :blushing:. But I have learned to accept PIF for what it is. However, he also send along a picture of said razor and after that I could only gasp for air. I wasn't even capable of forming sentences - everything was back to stuttering and single syllables.

Because what he offered me was nothing short of the number one razor on my most wanted list ! After I caught my breath again, I told him I was literally over the moon and in total shock about his super generous offer and kindness. We exchanged details and with the help of two fine B&B brothers (a huge thank you to @Rosseforp and @Curly Straight for their postal advise!) a small package set out on a course from the US to the Netherlands.

I think I must have hit the refresh button on the tracking page about every other hour to see if there was any progress when last week things started moving again with the message that the package has made it to the Netherlands and needed to clear customs - which took another week and then today was delivery day!!!

So without further ado - please take a look at this:

I GOT A TIMELESS TITANIUM 95 !!!!! with a scalloped baseplate and Crown Handle WHAAAAAA!!!! :001_wub::001_wub::001_wub::001_wub::001_wub: And not only that, I also received the matching stand!!

I am gob smacked and truly, truly grateful for what has happened to me and the huge gift I received today. As you can imagine I think the world of this fine gentleman.

So, dear, dear, dear @Butch Waxx - what you have done is beyond words to me and beyond anything I could have ever hoped or prayed for. It is such an act of random kindness and a superb example of why this community, this little virtual village called B&B touches my soul. I joined just a couple of months ago thinking I would thank someone for a shaving technique, maybe pick up a few other techniques and suggestions and then that would be it. But the camaraderie, the gentlemanly communications, the kindness, the caring and supporting each other is truly remarkable. And this PIF thing is one aspect I have not gotten used to yet (well giving is easy, but the receiving part I find harder...).

Every shave with this magnificent razor will be in your honor and I truly believe you are a blessed human being and an example to others. If there were more people like you and other brothers the world would definitely be a better place.

@Butch Waxx - thank you from the bottom of my heart :ouch1:. I gave her an extra buffing and she is radiant. I think we will both have a great time during tomorrow's shave.

And the story actually doesn't end there - but that is for another day! :cuppa::001_rolle

👍👍👍

I know envy is a bad look, but I'm kinda jealous. Maybe I can at least get credit for being honest.😄😄😄

This kind of thing is what keeps me going! Every now and again I have a pleasant, brief talk with a stranger and wonder, Could we be on the same forum?

And I like your sentimentality, @Guido75 !

Haha, I fear the day I am in a business meeting and find out someone is on B&B too - that will derail that meeting completely!!

But so far so good. When I mention my hobby at work I mostly get blank stares.

Thanks Joe - I feel you. Would it help if I said that saying yes was far from easy?

Honesty is a virtue my friend, so we’ll definitely give you credits for that!
