What's new

I have some items I'd like help in identifying/dating

Hi everyone, I posted a bit ago about cleaning out my wife's grandfather's house and his collection of shaving stuff. We've found items dating back to the 1920s so any dates are possible. I've been able to find some info on some of it, but its very hard to figure out the time frame of some items. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

This one is a GEM push button? From maybe late 50s to 60s? Has two new blades in the case.

The left one says PAL, the right one says "Eversharp"

These two I know are Gillette Double Edge Safety razors. The underside of the left one has an A and a 4, but they are on the far sides, not next to the handle, which I thought was how you can date them. The right one has no letters or numbers that I can find.

Shave stick, no date. Maybe 60s?

Remington shaver. I tried to plug it in but it doesn't work. I'm thinking 1970s manufacture?

The razor on the left is a 1955, 4th quarter Gillette flare tip Super Speed. The razor on the right is a 1940s Super Speed, made before the date codes were marked on the razors.

Hi,

I strongly suggest you keep these things. You won't get such special items elsewhere, that's for sure.

We even have a brotherhood for such:

Read thru that thread and see. :)

+1! Yes indeed! Using and enjoying family heirlooms is definitely the way to go IMO!!
