What's new

I found this yesterday at a "Yard Sale" for five dollars!

Hi all,

Ooooh Man, ya gotta love a good "Yard Sale!"
This one cost me five dollars (with case). Heck, I'm not even a Watch guy
(don't wear one). That being said, my "Guts" told me this was a good one!
I later found one Watch dealer offering for sale this same vintage CITIZEN
Watch for $350.00 ! I got to get this bad boy to the Jewelers and have a new
battery/cleaning performed.

Hi Guys,

Thank you for your comments. @StillShaving, agreed. This Watch appears to be in pristine condition and included the "Instruction" booklet which was in the case. I suspect (as you mentioned) that this Watch has not been worn often and more than likely has spent most of it's life secure in it's case in a dresser draw. I'll update this thread later this week after I have a Jeweler check it out. Thanks FarmerTan and ajkel64.

Hi @Joshua223, lol. No, in fact, there was no price tag on the Watch. When I was going through a box of stuff, I saw this Case and opened it and seen this beautiful Watch. I asked the Woman, does it work ? She said yes, it just needs a new battery. I asked "how much ?" and she replied "five dollars". I said, sounds fair to me! Time will tell if it's a good/working Watch.

Hi all,

Well, the Watch appears to work/run well! I had a "Watch Specialist" check it out and put in a new battery, change the settings and Bingo! All in all, not a bad Watch for my having spent twenty seven dollars (over all).

Hi @Matt O, Hi @PreachTheWord ,

Oooh, thank you kind Sirs for your kind response. I do a LOT of hunting around for cool items (and of course Razors).
LOL, Matt O, check out this (made in Maine/found in a Thrift Shop along the Maine Mid-Coast) ultra cool vintage
COWBELL I purchased Saturday!

Dang it @SixCats! , I was gonna use that quote until I reached the bottom of your post.

That is awesome the watch is running like it should! Just saw where you used the word vintage. I thought it looked more traditional but it looked so nice in the picture I figured it was newer!

Hi @Joshua223, LOL, sorry I beat you to the punch(line).
Oooh thank you for your kind words. The Watch (circa 1980's) was indeed a sweet find and I suspect spent most of it's life in it's case in a drawer until sold at the "Yard Sale".

Probably one of those, "I don't want to wear it everyday and scratch it up" watches.
