I emptied a bottle of ink today!

4.5 oz bottle of Noodler's Kung Te-cheng.




... okay, I did pour most of it into an empty Private Reserve ink bottle, so it's not like I used up all that 4.5 oz ... but still.

Well, in that sense, I emptied my bottle of KTC...into an empty Vegemite Jar. I'm not really into eyedroppering my pens, so I wanted it in something I could dip a pen into.

I prefer Marmite to Vegemite, but I had to try it once, and then that jar looked like it ought to be good for something. Lots of empty Marmite bottles too, that look like they ought to be good for inks, if the need came up.

I have yet to empty an ink bottle by actually using up the ink. Too many inks.

I don't get how you can enjoy either. Both are incredibly foul stuff and maybe you could somehow dilute the marmite with something and make inks with it

And it's a good thing, too. I just checked the cupboard and found that, while I do have Marmite and Bovril, the Vegemite is gone!
Gotta remedy that.

I finally emptied a bottle of Waterman Florida Blue. Most of it ran thru my little Pelikan M400 blue stripe with a medium nib.

The only bottle I emptied by using all the ink was a Parker Penman Saphire Blue (was my favorite ink for years and I emptied several by use). I only have one left and am reluctant to open it - sort of saving it for specail writing occations.

Does anyone know of a currently available ink that is close to the Penman Saphire?

Other bottles I "emptied" were spilled, evaporated, or were thrown out by SWMBO because she thought they were "too old"!
