I can't believe some idiot just payed over $300 for a toggle on the Bay!

B&B membership has its percs
Saw that auction & bid, asked for ending messages .. got a text that it was ending, went to the auction .. FM&HIRIO, my $25 bid was just a wee tad low .. wow .. but where do you get the free ones?

I know... I just got one for free

Laugh it up funny boy while you can. You just watch it because next thing you know the doors will fall of that thing.

Seriously though I'm jealous. Good luck getting the adjustment dial to work on a setting other than 4.

Seriously, I think that was a pretty fair price given its condition and rarity. The fact that it includes the documentation is vital to the elevated value, as well. You see, this is not a simple daily use razor. This one is a true collectible.

Very, very nice. :thumbup1:

YGBSM!!! It's a nice razor BUT $305!!!??? That's what my Mom used to call "More Dollars than sense"
PS: After all it isn't even a single edge

That just tells you how popular our little hobby has become. I paid just over $100 for a mint, cased "D" Toggle (although mine only had the warranty card, no instructions) about a year & a half ago, and that was on eBay...

Exactly. The collectible values have increased across the board over the past two years. Heck, $300 is cheap compared to other forms of collecting. Check out the prices on fountain pens on eBay. $2,000-$3,000 for a single pen is not that terribly uncommon. I don't see any difference whatsoever between a fountain pen and a razor. You can still find old ones for next to nothing or rare ones which will cost you a pretty penny.

I'd have to agree with the both of you. The collecting aspect is on the rise as is the shaver class.
While there is always ups and downs with our hobby, I'm afraid the up trend will continue for some time to come.

I would imagine that in 5 years, $305 would be a bargain. So is the buyer really an idiot? I don't think so.
