What's new

I am a new member, but already I think I have caught the disease.

After reading about 1/2 of the topics in this "Making and Restoration" section , today I ordered a 22mm Firehouse Potter handle from Whipped Dog. I would have bought the knot from them and had Larry build it, but I think I will buy a 22 mm Finest Badger Knot XH from TGN and attach it myself after I try it with different lofts.

Is there a cure for this, or is it a chronic disease that I must suffer with for the rest of my life?

Chronic and no cure. The only suffering. . . .if your tools bite you and of course, selecting the next candidate to restore.

Welcome to the Dark Side. :biggrin1:

It arrived yesterday, however it had a silvertip knot already in it. It looked beautiful, and I emailed and offered to pay for what they had shipped. Megan responded promptly saying
Please don't worry about paying, as it was my mistake.
.

I used it this morning and it was great, soft but enough stiffness.

I just measured it . It is actually a 26mm knot with a 48 mm loft. Not exactly what I was looking for, but a beautiful addition

Sorry that the photo is so large, perhaps someone can instruct me on how to reduce the size.

Don't worry about the photo size. It allows us to look at the details.

Nice work on the brush and getting over the "restoration syndrome" is indeed difficult.
