Bella loves them hummers.
Get one with the moat.Ants are the enemy of hummingbird feeders.
I always hung mine using two fishing leaders with a small round bobber in the middle. A gob of axle grease on the top of the bobber prevented the ants from going any farther.Get one with a moat.
I'll try the grease thing, but so far no ants...but they are a comin".I always hung mine using two fishing leaders with a small round bobber in the middle. A gob of axle grease on the top of the bobber prevented the ants from going any farther.
What is your formula?Changed the juice frequently...just didn't get any takers.
What is your formula?
Try switching it up to this formula: 1/4 cup of pure cane white sugar to 1 cup of distilled water…or filtered water. It was store bought juice...a powder mixed with water.
I use two feeders one in the front yard and one in the backyard. The males use the one in the front almost all the time. The one in the back 90% female with about 10% male.It is bizarre - we have hummers all summer long. NEVER a male, just the drab females. Going on five years now and no luck.
