Hi All,
Bought an old straight from KronaKruiser here as a practise on restoration ... worst case, I figured, I'd've learned. Best case? It will be honeable and useful to shave! Step one is complete - the blade is done. Scales to come. I left the pitting (too deep) and some Dremel dings on the shank as a reminder of what NOT to sand out pitting with. A pretty identical thread can be found over on SRP.
I got straight to work without taking 'before' pics - they are on the FS post :

180 up to 2000 grit alu/iron/silicon paper and then Blue Magic on a dremel-felt wheel combo at LOW speed with regular heat checks.
180-Grit stage
Just a reminder as to being cautious of where your fingers wind up...(320 or 800 grit stage)
Which then requires 'ointment'... (1k grit stage)
And finally, post 2K and polish.
