What's new

how's this Lupo set-up sound. am I missing anything?

Razorock Lupo 1.27SB w/ Barber pole handle waiting on it to arrive.
Lupo .72OC
Lupo .95OC

Should this cover the basics? I already have a gamechanger I bought on here with an .84P head. I have mild razors and can get a BBS shave with ease on the game changer .84SB so I don't know if I would want anything milder, maybe a touch minor to try but don't feel the GC is aggressive at all.

And if those Lupo heads don't work, I can always offer them as a trade for another blade gap.

Lupo is a good shaver with a lot of blade feel, verging on uncomfortable (at least for me). Fair warning, you might be surprised how these stack up against the GC 0.84P. One thing in particular to watch out for, it’s too easy to pick up a nick on the Lupo’s exposed corners. So be careful there.

FWIW, when I did a quick run through a few Lupos a while back the 95 stood out as particularly nice.

Exposed edges? I guess I am un-aware of this, like I said I have one ordered but really am enjoying this game changer alot. hmmm well that's not good cause almost everytime I shave I get side tracked and end up not sitting the razor flat while moving from one area to another (while shaving)

I think those 3 lupos are great choices and solid options to have.
It is interesting, some people are on the G.C side and some are on the Lupo side.
It all personal preference and what works best for you.
Between them both ( LUP_ & G.C), you should be able to find some great shavers..
Best bang ( shave) for the buck out there...(YMMV)
I love both, for me it is 1.27 Lupo & 1.05 G.C. ...
Cheers

I have no exposed corners on my Lupo DC.

I've shaved with it over a hundred times, both face and head and never got nicked by the corner, and I shave my head blind in the gym shower.

The post linked below includes an illustration of what I'm referencing. It's a combination of the blade angle, gap and exposure, and the cutaways on the razor head. Glad you haven't had any trouble with it, @BalkanPiper .

Never tried the Lupo OC offerings but I really like my .95 SB. Looks like you have a nice assortment. I never cared much for the GC but the Lupo is a great shaver.

I was looking at getting one of these and have read hundreds of posts on it but haven’t seen one other reference to those edges being an issue. Has anyone seen this as an issue in real world use?

I regularly use a 72 and a 58, and I've never had any issues with the corners, particularly with the blades in my rotation: Permasharp, Nacet, Astra SP, and Astra SS.

Thank you for those pictures. I have a general dislike of the new razors with covered blade tabs as most of them lazily leave the sides straight making the corners of the blade unreachable.

Some of us need that corner access.

Your pictures, with an inserted blade, clearly shows corner availability

Good choices. The Lupo .72 SB is similar to the Game Changer .84 SB.

I love the GC .84 SB but do prefer how the Lupo "loads" blades over the GC and maneuverability of the Lupo head.

So far I have used the GC 76, Lupo 58, 72 and 95. All P. 76 and 95 are the standouts for me. So smooth and very rarely liquid red.

Lupo doesn’t want an anchor weighted handle. It it quite nimble. HD Hallow or Vintage Slim or something titanium that is not too long.
