How to tell the difference in fat boy and slim?

If you are looking at a pic, how do you tell the difference in one over the other?
I am guessing side by side you can tell, but how do you know, "just by looking"?
I am new to razors like this, so, just learning.

Why don't you go to Mr. Razor.com and look at the pictures of them all? The site is very handy, and don't be put off by the German - it all ends up in English once you get inside.

Fatboy is shorter and fatter, slim is taller and slenderer... I suppose you could use the size of the head as your reference point for scale, as it should be the same size on both.

Generally, look at the adjustor ring, if it ends "squared off" its a fat, if it bevels down at an angle its a slim

either one is a fine shave

I am learning, slowly, but guess will be a razor whore before it is over and well on my way, LOL!!
My wife said- "You will get obsessed with this" (razors)
I said- "Why do you say that"?
She said- "You get obsessed with everything you do or get into".
After thinking about it for a few days, she is right and yeah, I am "already" obsessed, LOL!

Personally I get better shaves out of my slim than my fatboy, granted I haven't used either a lot... YMMV

So either one would be worth a shot is what I'm saying.

but make it a family thing, I branched from a variety of shaving soap to fine bath soaps ( if a good shaving soap makes one of life's routines pleasurable, then maybe a fine soap would do the same for the morning shower)
After enduring ridicule from SWMBO, the wife admitted she was now addicted to the smell and feel of fine soap and looks forward to the next bar.
P.S. it was MFW bath soap that turned the tide
