How-to-clean your razors

I think it's amazing people use razors that have been used for such a long time... some razors people use are like 50 years old eh? Those things are built like a tank. Amazing. It really makes those cartridge razors look like toys.

A fifty year old razor probably isn't hardly broken in yet. :001_smile

Here's the razor I use about five days out of the week. It' about a hundred years old or thereabouts. I's a Gem Jr. Bar Razor. patented in 1900 & 1901. Gives a great shave.

The other couple of days a week I'll probably use my red tip Superspeed which is only a little over fifty years old. It is my favorite of the double edge razors.

As far as cleaning razors, I still like Scrubbing Bubbles and an old toothbrush to clean them and then, if needed, a cream type metal polish such as MAAS. After any needed polishing is done, I give the razor a Barbicide soak for ten or fifteen minutes.

Regards,
Tom
