I just rinse mine after each shave, a few light squeezes all around, a few shakes, and light swirls with a dry towel before i place it out in the open right side up to dry. Really never made much sense to me to wash my brush with soap since it technically gets that each time i shave.

When we lived in a house for almost 20 years with well water, my razors and brushes never rinsed clean. I would take my DEs apart and wipe them down after every shave, and clean my brushes in a vinegar/water solution 2-4 times a year depending on use. We downsized to an apartment last year. I now only wipe down my DE when I change blades, and my brushes haven't needed to be "cleaned" in 10 months. I still miss my well water. City water tastes like crap and we now get to pay for it.
I'm super good about rinsing my brushes out after every shave.

I rinse my brushes thoroughly after each use. I clean all of my brushes about once a year with a brush cleaner.
