How much do you rinse after shaving with Soap?

I apply a little more cream and water after my shave just so my face can get a little more glycerin going on before I rub my face with my alum block.

After that I use a wet wash cloth soaked in cold water to wipe it all away.

I rinse it all of, but saw on the leaflet that comes with MDC that they recommend just wiping the residual soap of with a towel...

I'm this except I use damp facecloth for 1.

I'm changing my answer because I fluked my way into something that works better for me.
I wipe excess lather off with the luke warm facecloth (the previously hot one used to wet my face to lather) and once in a while I'll use AS/Thayers if I feel like it. That's is.

If I'm using Proraso green, then I'll do a cold waters rinse for the additional menthol pop.

I've pulled the "cold rinse > alum > wait > cold rinse" from the routine.

Got lucky with dead badgers
I shave before I shower so I rinse everything away but use the extra left over lather as a face scrub first

I usually rinse everything off, which can take some time. Whether or not I should/need to is another matter best explored by those with less quirks and obsessions than I.
1. Thoroughly rinse brush
2. Thoroughly rinse face with cool water until visible lather is done. Pat face dry.
3. Let face air dry for a moment while rinsing brush. Again.
4. Apply aftershave(s) of choice
5. Cave to impulse and buy a set of the sample I just used.
Ah yes, the technique of a true B&B veteran. Classic! :001_302:
