How long should last an unused badger shaving brush if stored correctly?

After a lot of tallow soaps dissapearing from the market and more and more people concerned about animal based products, I'm affraid that one day the good old badger brush will dissapear, too.
I was thinking of buying a new brush now and store it for the dark period Do you have any experience with old brushes? Does the badger hair deteriorate with time, even without using?Any experience with NOS 20/30/40 years and up shaving brushes?

They should last forever if never used and stored dry. I have an old MadeRite brush that is probably 50+ years old and was never used. It is stored in its original box, and has just taken on the very slightest butterscotch color.

I had the good fortune to find an unused Kent badger brush from the 1930s. It whipped up lather just fine and didn't lose a hair.
