How long does a tub of Cella last?

Received my order today, containing a tub of Cella. I had already shaved for the day, but I tried whipping up a sample lather just to see what it's like. This was my first time lathering a tallow soap. I can see why people rave about it; the lather was fantastic!

However, my first thought on seeing that little red container was, "Man, that doesn't look like it's going to last me very long at all." Is it just an illusion caused by how dense the soap is? Or is it as bad as I fear? Those of you who shave with Cella, how long does a tub of it typically last you?

I don't know, I'm still going with mine and it didn't go down much compared to what I used... I would say more than 3 months minimum...

Saturn,

I am down to about the last 3/8 inch of the Red Tub, and that is after five (5) months :001_smile

I use Cella in 5 out of 7 shaving days. The Red Tub lasts longer than you think !

Have fun !

Best regards

I also just received a tub of Cella yesterday and whipped up a test batch of lather. Good stuff but also was curious as to how long the tub may last.

Thanks for the info!

I use Cella quite a bit, but not every day. My guess is, if used every day, it would last about 4 - 6 months, depending on how many passes/how 'heavy' you like your lather. Not bad for the price point and product quality.

Mmm, Cella! Glad to hear it'll last a while. I usually don't use the same soap for a bit after using it a few times in a row. Mine should be good for a year or 2!

Shaving with marzipan........one of the best soaps for the price out there. Love that stuff, a gotta-have for the shave arsenal.

on another note cella in the small red tub is about 2.72/oz w/shipping if you really like it and buy the 1000g cella it goes down to about 1.45/oz w/shipping tabac from fragrancex free shipping is 2.74/oz in other words you would have to use the big cella up twice as fast to equal tabac's cost.
TL:DR cella is cheaper per oz meaning you can buy more for less making it cheaper than most hard/triple milled soaps.

aside: keep in mind an 1oz = 1oz the only real difference between a hard soap and a soft soap is density not amount.
