How long does a 150ml shaving cream tube last you?

Just as the post says, how much does a tube last? I've used 150ml as that seems to be a common size. I would like to know so that I can gauge if I'm using the right amount of cream. Sometimes I think I use too much.

Don't worry about how long it lasts for now. There are guys on here that use a pea sized amount but I think that's crazy. I find a lump of cream about the size of two shelled almonds gives me great rich lather that holds up for a 3-4 pass shave. If your cream is in a tube, not a bowl/tub, try squeezing a length on your finger that will go over two finger joints in a straight line. That should give you enough cream to work will assuming average brush, average size face, average water quality, etc.

40 shaves maybe if I'm lucky but my tubes are smaller, like Speik or Godrej.

i don't have a 150g(ml) tube, but my 70g tube has at least a dozen shaves out of it, and it's still 3/4 full, i'm shooting for at least 50-75

I'd say an amount the size of a quater or almond is all you need. The rest should come from the brush action. 150ML should last you a real long time.

Trumpers uses those little 5 gram containers, and you can get between 2 and 3 shaves out of them. 2 grams per shave should give you plenty for a 3 pass shave, so I'd say you'd get about 75 shaves from a tube that size.

Start with an almond sized amount and see if you get enough lather for your liking out of it, if not add more. As others have stated 75 would be a good number to get a good amount of lather.

I get 3 shaves out of the T&H samples, which I think are 5 mL. So I suspect I could get somewhere near 100 shaves out of the tube.

It really depends on the size of your brush. If you only have 30mm knots then your tube is not going to last nearly as long if you had a 22mm knot.

I agree with this assessment, though without completely understanding it. Is it because the brush will hold more lather, therefore you need more cream?

I would say I use about 1 oz. each shave, so YMMV, but I would say I get about 150 shaves out of a 150 ml(or g). You don't need a lot of cream, depending on how thick you like it or how many passes you do. I stick to the conservative side, and I like a very hydrated lather, and I typically go for two passes with cleanup now. I am much more efficient than I used to be with lather.

I use about 2ml per shave, based on samples, and that provides lots of lather! So 75 shaves or more, minimum.

Great question, BTW!

My Proraso tube is about 1/3 gone, so I dunno maybe 60 shaves. I could probably stretch that to 100. Tabac soap on the other hand Im estimating 1,000 at least.

Im actually surprised my Proraso isn't lasting longer, I guess I use too much. No worries though I can't wait to try some other brands/types, thats half the fun!
