How do you store your unused blades?

I'm slowly (quickly) amassing lots of different types of loose blades. They are in their wrapper and everything, but they don't have boxes. Currently I have them stacked up by type but when I go to remove one I always seem to knock over the neat little piles.

What is a good way of storing these? Do you put them in a container? Stack them in your shave cabinet? Wrap them in rubber bands?

Inquiring minds what to know! (Pictures help :001_smile )

Thank you!

I store mine in a square tub with a semi-tight seal. (an old 4 gallon Costco laundry soap container). I was using an under-bed box but I like the sealing action of the tub better. Most of my blades are in batches of 50 or 100, all in Ziploc bags. I don't use desiccant, but if I find any in a pill bottle or item of clothing I toss it in.

I'll post a pic later.

I like those plastic travel soap containers. The ones that are in the "trial size" section of the grocery store/pharmacy.

This is a good way to store razors without cases cheaply as well. Wrap 'em up in some tissue or regular paper.

Keep wrapped blades and packs in an empty "personal wipes" rectangular container in a dresser drawer, only 2 or 3 packs of blades in the bathroom shave drawer.

I store mine in an old wooden "jewellery" chest my brother made for me years ago on a shelf in my bedroom well out of reach for cats and visiting small children, dark, dust free and dry. If I have several blades of the same type without a container, I do wrap rubber band around them to keep them together.

As mentioned before, a repurposed laundry detergent tub. The square ones Costco sells are perfect, as they will fit on a shelf. The top gives a sort of airtight seal, so they are perfect for blades, creams, etc.

In event of a national shaving emergency, Godzilla rampage, or shavepocalypse, just grab the tub and go.

WARNING! Not to allow small children to fall into blade bucket!

This will hold anywhere from 2,000 to 3,000 blades. At one time I had the sucker full. I keep extra creams and razors in the tub as well.

Some very good points in this thread. I don't keep my blades in the bathroom so they aren't exposed to a moist and humid environment but I'd hate for my vintage blades to not last the distance. I've got quite a few of those dessicant silica gel sacks at home so I think I'll have to buy a largish airtight plastic container and put the blades into zip lock bags with a sack of silica gel or two in each and then put the zip locks into the container.

Okay I can see from these pictures that my blade collection is not very large.

I guess I'm different than most of you in that all of my current blades in my rotation are loose (not in boxes), total about 50, and I keep them in my shave cabinet in my bathroom. My bathroom has very low moisture because I have an exhaust fan that could suck the chrome off a trailer hitch. I can leave the shower on hot all day and get no steam on the mirror.

I think I need to find something like a divided sugar packet holder like you see in restaurants with the blue, white, and pink packets in them.
