How do you pronounce Penhaligon's?

According to Kephany at ShopLondons.com (and the rest of the ShopLondons staff), it's

"Pen - HAL - agons"

(Don't feel bad.... I had to ask them, too.)

Being a Brit, I'd say PenHALIguns, with the letter I pronounced as in "it"

Penhaligon is a Cornish name and they are Celts like us Welsh!

Are you sure the Cornish aren't Corns??

Funny isn't it, I'm from the UK and I've been pronouncing it Pen-HAIL-igons. Looking at though it would seem to make more sense to pronounce it Pen-HAL-igons.

Maybe I've got a superiority comlpex and think my way sounds more posh!:ciappa:

Hmmm... I think the best pronunciation is Ahhhhhhh!

When in Rome.....

Over here, it seems to be more American English to say, "pen HAL agons".

I would imagine that a British English pronounciation would be, "pen Hall eeguns".

There I was thinking that I had the definitive pronunciation and now there are variants. Keeps life interesting, that's for sure.

Queen's English: "Pen-hell-igens" (or something like that..)

My Manchester accent: "Pen-'ali-guns" (don't pronounce the 'h' lol)
