How do I preserve my great- grandfathers razors?

I recently inherited my great grandfathers shaving gear which included an old Fatboy, a ball handle tech, and a Star 3-piece (I assume a tech copy). All three have some plating loss on the caps / doors and what seems to be some corrosion under the plating . I have cleaned them thoroughly, but I'm not sure what else to do to keep them from getting worse. Should I have them replated or is there something else I can do to protect them. Help !

Replating is an option, but only you can decide what feels right. Some would say that you shouldn't because it would fundamentally change your great-grandfather's items and they might not be as meaningful to you. Others would say that replating is a great way to return your great-grandfather's items to the condition he enjoyed using them in and is a great way to protect them for the rest of your life too.

It all comes down to what you want to do. If the plating is bad, personally, I'd probably opt to replate.
And it goes without saying, but I'm very happy you've received these items.... they are very special.

Thanks for the feedback , I've tried several times to upload photos, but can't seem to get them on here.I'll try again tomorrow. And thanks Badger Bill, I feel really fortunate to have gotten these razors since my great-grandfather died in 1952.
