How do I fix bent safety bar guard?

Hi,
I bought a Gillette adjustable L 2 date code, but on one side, the blade guard is slightly bent inward near the middle. It looks like the razor got dropped and the blade guard edge struck the edge of a counter or something. It's just slightly bent, but I would like to straighten it out. The rest of the razor is fine, no plate loss, even blade gaps on both sides and it locks down and adjust properly. Any way to fix this problem without marring the finish? Thanks.

Someone posted a while back with what I thought was a clever approach. Loop a shoestring through the safety bar at the affected area and gently pull to straighten. That should be gentle on the finish.

The problem I'm having is not uneven blade gap, but if you look underneath the razor from the bottom of the handle down and look underneath the razor head, the blade guard is bent inward in the middle. I.E. if you took the razor and wacked the side of the blade guard against an edge of a hard table. That's where it is bent. The side of the blade guard got bent/dented inward.

I have used some hobbyist pliers with rubber tubing over the metal tips to protect the metal finish of the razor. Just be careful of what part of the razor you apply counter pressure to when making your adjustment.
