How do auto strip razors work

It’s auto strop.

It is basically a simple mechanism that assists with blade stropping. The mechanism does what one might do if they were stropping by hand, moving the razor blade over the material, but in a much more consistent manner than you’d be able to do by hand. They’re a neat collectible and quite usable if you find a kit in good condition. A lot like the Rolls razor kits.

Lots of Tube videos through Google search.

Blades are available for Auto Strop razors; the older ones will accept a de-spined GEM blade and later ones will take a Feather FHS-10 blade. Finding a usable strop would be a challenge; happily stainless steel blades don't require or benefit from stropping so not having the strop isn't a dealbreaker for these little machines.
