How DE are made

Cool video.

3,300 hours!?!?!?!?!? Yikes. That is assuming a 8.76 minute shave every day for 62 years (18 to 80). If you shave for 15 minutes, your time commitment goes up to 5,658 hours.

Notice the lack of filming coverage in the sharpening stages of production. I will assume this may be the most proprietary and therefore off limits to the camera.

Considering the process and the technology that goes into these things, I guess the price is still pretty reasonable.

Very interesting

When I was in college, I worked summers at a band saw blade factory. The process they used for making their band saw blades was remarkeably similar.

+1.

Cool video but did not give an explanation of two vital questions that come up a lot on B&B:

1. Why the numbers on the blades?
2. How do the glue spots get on some blades?

I would assume that the numbers on the blades are so Maint can adjust or replace grinders to get the most life out of them. If you watch the video, marking is before grinding. It would make sense technically.
