How are badger brushes made???

I was just wondering. Does anyone have a pictorial of how badger brushes are made? I understand the lathing of the handle pretty well, but how is the rest accomplished?

Yeah, only problem is that stuff gets soft in water - obviously not a good deal for a shave brush.
