Hot Towel Cabis

I have been interested in getting a hot towel cabi for myself for a while now, and wonder if anyone else has one. I could use some recommendations.

I know there are plenty of ways to make a hot towel, but I think having the cabi right there on my bathroom counter has its own nice little barbershop appeal to it.

Thoughts? Ideas? Anyone?

I have recently gotten into hot towel as part of my prep. A cabinet would be ideal, but since I use only one hot towel a day, I just can't justify it. What someone needs to invent is a hot towel cabinet sized for the home shave den, with just enough room for a couple of towels. Surely there is an enterprising B&Ber willing to take that on!

What about a small microwave? While you can buy hot towel cabinets for around $100, you can find small, dirt cheap microwaves in plenty of places.

I only occassionally use hot towels, mostly on weekends. I started with a small crock pot, but then brought a UV towel warmer home from the office. It was awfully big for my counter top, and I my wife REALLY didn't like the way it looked on the counter. I went back to the crock pot, and to be honest, I like it better. It stores easily under the sink, and it's just the right size for two "barber towels."

As always, YMMV.

If there was one thing I would want to add to my regimen it would be a nice hot towel waiting for me in a cabinet. But shaving only once every 3 days would never justify the cost.

I love the hot towels that the barber uses on my head (part of the job is a weekly haircut). Would be great to have something like that in my bathroom for the daily shave.

What I did was find a small, insulated container, like you'd keep soup hot in. As I'm getting my morning coffee ready I heat up some water, almost to a boil. I roll up a cotton, terrycloth hand towel and put it in the thermos. I pour the water over to saturate the towel, close up the thermos, and proceed with my shower. When I'm ready for my shave I remove the towel, which is still steaming hot, spray on some Baxter's Hot Towel Soak, and apply for two minutes of bliss. Then I lather up for another great shave.
