Horween Horsehide Back In Stock & Beginner / Plain Strops

Tony Miller

Speaking of horse butts…
Just got a really nice batch of my "Notovan" Horsehide in yesterday. This is a Horween product that starts its tanning process along side the Cordovan for the first 45 days but finishes up a bit differently. Nice and supple with a magnetic draw. Available in 2 1/2" and 3" widths, handles or D-ring grips and paird with either my cotton or Genuine Flax Linen second components.

I am also offering my line of "Plain" strops as single, leather only models as well as those paired with cotton. The leather only with D-ring grips helps keep the cost down to $35. Available in my steerhide, veg tanned or Notovan horsehides in both 2 1/2" and 3" widths.

The Notovan is a thinner leather so is much more supple, conforming to the edge. Great for smiling edge razors. It has an oil/wax treatment more like cordovan than veg tanned so has a more magnetic, rather than velvety draw. Probably still sort of a medium but just feels different.
