I would use food grade mineral oil. You can get it almost anywhere.

I would not be afraid of clean oil, fresh from the store. One must decide for himself. I would avoid drinking it.

Car antifreeze is typically ethylene glycol which is poisonous. Propylene glycol is available in a food grade and is in many consumable products.

Propylene glycol is also the main ingredient in some products sold to swell wood for tightening tool handles or fixing loose chair joints, thin with water.
For overly thirsty Crystalon's and Carborundum's, smear the surface with vaseline and rub in. This will allow the oil you use for a lube to stay on the surface where you need it and not soak in.
