Honeybee Shaving Soaps - Finally!

Was always put off by Sue's e bay site but once she got her own up and running I finally purchased a few of her shaving soaps and they did not disappoint. Once I got the water ratio right her soaps produced a really nice moist lather. The scents were great (Gardenia, Peppermint, Lavender & Rosemary & Cherry Pipe tobacco.) Also loved her shave sticks which came in a deoderant shaped dispenser for a nice wide application. These are very well priced soaps for the money! Also tried one of her body butters & cream rinses. They are both great values relative to some of the brand name products.

My wife and I have 6 pucks on the way.

Just Peachy
Juicy Strawberry
Caribbean Coconut

Forest Pine
Yazu (sp?)
Coconut Lime Verbenna

...at least I think I'm remembering them right. I changed my mind on scents at least three times.

Are they soaps that like water or not? I just received a puck of Rosemary & Cedar that I bought off B/S/T and would love to get the inside scoop before I try it out...

I find they are pretty forgiving either way.

I prefer less water when I load the brush, more water when I build lather (usually on face, btw)

Sue's soaps are very nice. I am especially fond of her Victorian Rose. It has a great rose scent and my wife likes it as well. I loaned two of her other scents to my son, Yea Olde Barbershop and Old Spice Type and haven't gotten them back yet. :001_rolle He did say that he likes them very much, and I did as well. They are a great value and she is a very nice vendor.

Hey guys! I'm Lee's wife, and we got our 6 soaps today and they're AWESOME! I used the Peach one first and it was so nice! I was really impressed at how easily it lathered. You didn't really have to work hard to get a nice and rich lather. This is definitely going to be a staple in our house. Now, we just wanna order more  Lee was curious about the Oakmoss and Autumn Afternoon. Do you guys know what those smell like? Anyone have any suggestions on ones that we shouldn't live without? :biggrin1:

I was considering Mountian Meadow and Autumn Afternoon for a while... how would you describe those two?

Autumn Afternoon - like a stroll through moist woods when the temperature is about 40 degrees F. It reminds me of damp maple leaves. It also reminds me of highschool football, when we used to walk back to the locker room after a REALLY cold practice during playoffs. I expected it to be a smokey smell, but there's no hint of fire. It might be my favorite scent out of hundreds of shaving products. BTW, Mama Bear offers the exact same smell with the exact same name.:thumbup1:

Mountain Meadow - I'm partial to this one because it smells like my church growing up. It's like a clean marble smell of an old building with a hint of incense. It's hard to describe, but it's clean, crisp, and fantastic. buy it.:thumbup1:

I love HBS soaps but was a bit disappointed with Oakmoss. When I put it in my mug and tried to take a good whiff, I couldn't smell anything. When I lathered up, it had a nice aroma, kind of like the smell of a forest after a rain, but it was very, very faint.

That being said, I'm working through my second six pack and will order again soon. My favorites so far are Bay Rum and Victorian Rose.

I shaved with the Yazu soap this morning. Fantastic smell. Excellent, and very fast lather. I think Honeybee Spa will have a couple repeating customers. Thanks B&B, we wouldn't have discovered them otherwise.

I recently bought some, and while I got a decent shave, I did have some trouble lathering it. Is there a trick to it? I spent some time trying to get it right, but my lather was always pretty airy.
