What do I have here, and is it good for straight razor finishing? It is by APEX, and is obviously German but it was sold to me as an Arkansa Stone? Does anyone have any idea what this is?

What does that mean?
It was sold to you as an Arkansas, you paid for an Arkansas.
Means it looks like an Arkansas
Could also be an Arkaram, possibly.
German made reformed Arkansas hone. I know APEX made reform hones. Not sure if they made reform Arks.

It’s most likely a hard ark. You’ll know for sure once you get it cleaned up and post a few more pics.
Yeah get all that steel out of the stone so we can get a better look at it. Right now it looks like a block of *something* covered with steel swarf paste. Probably a hard Ark though.
