I had one of those but yours is nicer. I also had a Bakonit which uses a 3 way honing/stropping head. There were several makes and models of gizmos for honing and stropping SE and DE blades. On carbon steel blades they worked better than nothing in a situation where no new blades were available. Think rationing or remote homesteads. They won't put a factory sharp edge on a blade. They are even less practical for modern blades which have coatings and compound bevels. They are pretty cool gadgets though. If you decide to try it out on a dull blade post your results! BTW I think yours will also take DE blades.
i refurbished mine and i tried it out on a DE blade. wasn't impressed. mine is in pretty good shape collecting dust. i took a lot of pics and i think i may have started a thread on it a while back.

the same thing krossed my mind when I read this post (see what I did there?). Guess I'll put my boxers on back to front tomorrow in homage!
