Holiday PIF: Slant set offered

I am offering a rarely seen Bakelite no-name slant set. The deal? I am offering this set to one of you who is either working in or volunteering in the public sector. Could be a fireman, EMT, school teacher, hospital volunteer. Police man, mail carrier, forest ranger, etc. Those of you who offer good work for those of us who depend on your efforts. Perhaps there will be others among us wanting to continue the tradition. But for now this one humble but in great shape vintage slant is being shared via the PIF.

Please express your interest and say something about the type of work or volunteer work you do, and I'll randomly select a winner on Wednesday evening.

Apparently German. But unless someone else can identify this, we'll have to leave it's brand as no-name. For now.

Light weight 3-piece razor. Effective shaver that requires finesse but once mastered -- it provides a great shave.

So please express your interest & tell us something about the work you do. Can be anywhere in the world. And thanks for your work!

Wow, that's very generous of you, can I participate ? I teach at a public university in Brasil, at the Computer Science Department. It is a large university (http://www.ufmg.br), Brazilian public universities usually are. They are quite important in our education system, because they provide good quality education and are free. Students do not pay to study here, either undergraduate or graduate. Most graduate students get a stipend to study. And that is true for all topics, including law and medical schools.

Class act as always Jake.....Great PIF.

I have been pursued by those in the public sector yet never apprehended.... No, guess I'm not in.

I would be interested. I'm a career firefighter and have been for the past 15 years. My main discipline in the fire service has been forest firefighting and have had the privilege of fighting fires in several states from Florida to Oregon and points in between. However, since I work in a full service department I also do emergency medical service calls and structural firefighting including vehicle accidents and various rescue situations. I have enjoyed my work and the privilege of serving my community and I also enjoy the camaraderie of my fellow firefighters.

I've been a probation officer for 24 years. Three years (or so) to retirement. Whether that's public service or not depends on who you ask I suppose. Anyway, that slant looks too good to pass up. I'm In.

Generous as always, Jake, and thanks for the opportunity.

P.S. It looks like I'm obliged to run warrants on Copierguy :001_tongu

I'm a government contractor who works on an AirForce base developing applications that help keep our nations cargo planes and fighter jets in operational shape.
I'm in. if that qualifies.

I'm in - looks great.
I work as a manager in a University medical faculty (the University likes to maintain the legal fiction that its a private entity, but in reality it is publicly funded). My training and previous work was as a microbiologist, but now the best way to describe my work is to say I look after scientists!

I'm in also, would be a great intro to slant shaving, I'm a Service Manager in the automotive repair business where we service what we sell, can you say stress. I deal with people with shattered dreams of the 80k 7 yr old car broke and they want to know why and express that it should not have broken. Makes the day go by quickly:biggrin1: and every day is an adventure:drool:

I'd love to participate. I'm a volunteer EMT. I also coach youth Ice Hockey. I'm a Fresh Air Fund parent for a young girl from NYC and I help found & participate with a not for profit providing sporting equipment and coaching clinics, medical care and clean water to public schools in Ethiopia.

Either way, great looking razor and a great PIF! Nice to give back to a public servant, and I am sure there are many on this forum far more qualified than I.

This is just the kind of thing that keeps me at my undisclosed location.

I've been on the hunt for a slant in the wild for a year now (I don't do the eBay thing) please consider me.

I volunteer for DDR (Detroit Dog Rescue) We've done food deliveries for needy dogs in the city, currently trying to get the proper permits to build the first no kill shelter in Detroit. My favorite event I was involved in was building about 200 dog houses for animals with no shelter. Being a 12 year vegetarian I give up a lot of free time for animal liberation/rights.

I am married to a school nurse, but I fix railroad tracks, so not in, but great PIF! Anyone who hasn't tried a slant and qualifies should jump on this!

I'm currently unemployed, but my career is in the public sector: Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator. Or, as my friends like call it: Poopsmith. :biggrin1:
